We hit the west end of canal on Saturday and Monday of this week. Saturday the wind blew us off the main end of Buzzards Bay and into small protected waters and managed to scratch out a few schoolies and some sea bass. On Monday the weather cooperated for most of the day and we hit an awesome top water bite for stripers at first light. We had fish bumping the boat as we drifted into schools of 25″-35″ fish. Smaller plastics worked best as they seamed to be gorging on first of the year silversides. After the striper bite slowed we hit the bay and Cleveland Ledge for some bottom action. Huge scup up to 4-lbs and few nice sea bass hit the cooler before the tide turned against the wind and we had to make it back to the calmer waters of upper buzzards bay.

May 14th, 2013The Spring Striper Migration is about to explode!
May 7th, 2013With water temps in the mid fifties and the weather warming this week, we should be in for an all blitz of big stripers any day this week. We hit Phinney’s Harbor yesterday and found a few flats that had schoolies on them in 56 degree water. Sight casting to small pods of fish in the 18-22″ range was a blast. Don’t worry the big fish will be here shortly. Also, the Tautog bite is heavy in Buzzards Bay and the Scup & Black Sea Bass will be good this weekend. Mackerel are showing up in Cape Cod bay as well. Look for more reports each week starting NOW!
