Stripers feeding on young sandeels

A schoolie that got "schooled" on the fly!

I spent the Memorial Day weekend stalking stripers in the surf with Bob from Acton, MA.  We landed 36 fish with the avergae size of 18-27″. They were feeding heavily on the incoming tide in Cape Cod Bay on 2″ sandeels.  The sandeels were thick and the fishing was incredible.  A 2″ white fly of any pattern was all it took for a hook up when the bite was on.  No huge fish, but what a great time.

Even 2" sandeels will take large stripers
